The Wait Is Over: Mueller Report To Be Released Thursday

Rosenstein Says Mueller Report Will Outline Russian CybercrimesMore

Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec did not provide a precise time, but said the report, which Barr has described as almost 400 pages long, will be released both to Congress and the public.

Washington is expecting that Attorney General William Barr could disclose the report on Monday or Tuesday, much-awaited details from Mueller's 22-month investigation of Donald Trump campaign contacts with Russian Federation and whether Trump, as president, obstructed justice by trying to thwart the probe.

So what can we expect from the full document?

Opponents of Trump hope the report will answer longstanding questions about his ties to Russia, including what transpired at a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower in NY involving his son, Donald Trump Jr, and a Russian lawyer who promised "dirt" on rival Hillary Clinton. Trump and Republicans have argued that the Russian Federation investigation was tainted early on by anti-Trump bias in the FBI and Justice Department.

House Democrats have already made formal requests to see the entirety of the report, and have floated taking the Justice Department to court over full disclosure of its contents and the underlying evidence.

Ticklethewire.com will provide details of the report once it becomes public.

According to the attorney general's summary, no criminal conspiracy between Moscow and the Trump campaign was established.

In a bid to head off a legal battle, Barr said during hearings last week that he would work with leaders of the Senate and House Judiciary Committees on providing them more information after the public version of the report is released.

Even if the report doesn't end up containing any bombshells about how Trump behaved behind the scenes toward Comey, Mueller, Putin, and others, it will hopefully answer THE question of the 2016 election: WTF was going on?

Two days later, Barr released a four-page summary of the "key findings". Barr also has said he planned to redact material related to intelligence-gathering sources and methods. Show us the report and we can draw our own conclusions.

Meanwhile, the top Democrat and Republican on the House Intelligence Committee are also asking Barr to produce all of the investigative materials compiled by Mueller's team and to make Mueller and his staff available for a briefing. "It was condescending, it was arrogant and it wasn't the right thing to do". Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., has threatened to subpoena the Justice Department to release Mueller's report and related documents, if he and Barr can not come to an agreement over redactions and the special counsel's underlying evidence.
