Samsung’s ultimate goal is to create "perfect full-screen" phone

Samsung calls the technology its Infinity-O display, and it enables less of the screen to be broken up by a "notch" needed to house the camera sensors.

Galaxy A9 (2018), launched in November previous year, integrates a 6.3-inch Full-HD + Super AMOLED Infinity display (1080 × 2220 pixels) and is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 eight-core, combined with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of integrated storage space.

Samsung's latest phones have minimized the so-called "notch" found in iPhones and other modern Android devices by cutting a hole for the camera into the screen.

By moving the camera under the screen, it would remove the need for any kind of cutout on the front display.

The technology for such a feat is not yet available.

Samsung is gearing up to release its second Android Go smartphone like the Galaxy A2 Core. The company says that it was challenging to punch a hole into the display and while it does consider the Infinity-O Display a milestone, it eventually wants to come out with a flawless full-screen device. Some have experimented with pop-up cameras but Samsung's idea of integrating the necessary equipment into the display seems feels like the right way forward. "We tried the technology for Galaxy's 10th anniversary model and think the strategy worked as a result".

It's likewise unknown when or if Apple will adopt this technology from AMS for iPhones.

According to a new report, the South Korean major is likely to launch its smartphones with in-display front cameras, dismissing the presence of bezels or a camera module on display. Other manufacturers, such as Vivo, are trying to do away with ports and buttons.

The online publication makes sure to remind readers that one of the most important aspects users are looking for in a smartphone is that it has long-lasting battery life.
