Antonio Brown Trades Words with Former Teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster

Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster

Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said that he was "disappointed" with the way Brown left the team.

The unhappy exchange began, ironically enough, after Brown tweeted the following message: "Keep your emotions off the internet".

One of those Pittsburgh fans took the opportunity to troll Brown, posting in his mentions an image celebrating Smith-Schuster's selection by other Steelers as the team MVP for the 2018 season. It would be hard to argue Brown did not feel threatened by Smith-Schuster last season.

Brown's unprompted tweet referred to Smith-Schuster's critical fumble in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints last season.

Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN in a recent interview that the presence of Smith-Schuster wasn't a factor in Brown's desire to be traded, but rather the need for a new start. Reid is scheduled to get his chance as the Texans take on the Raiders at home this season.

In response to that criticism, Smith-Schuster used Brown's own tweet against him and launched into a string of attacks against his former brother in black and yellow.

That's when Brown seemed to disregard his previous advice altogether, by taking an ill-advised shot at Smith-Schuster which left National Football League fans in an uproar. Smith-Schuster - who is still on his rookie contract while Brown is on his third extension - had expressed his support for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger shortly before then.

Smith-Schuster was quick to fire back, referencing Brown's original tweet.
