Vikings running back Latavius Murray to sign with Saints

The Ravens agreed to a deal with former Saints running back Mark Ingram according to Dianna Russini and Adam Schefter of ESPN

Former Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and Saints running back Mark Ingram have signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

Thomas will sign a four-year, $55 million contract with $32 million guaranteed as the NFL's official free agency period started today.

The New Orleans Saints for the last two seasons had Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara share rushing duties from out of the backfield. He's four years younger than Weddle and played well in 2018 before a broken leg caused him to miss the final 12 weeks of the season.

The Seahawks also have a history of finding defensive backs that they can mold into strong players in their system. The coveted impending free agent safety is about to be off the market.

Thomas makes the Ravens' already stacked secondary better, but is that group good enough to cover a linebacking corps that suddenly lacks star power? Negotiations between the sides reportedly broke down leading up to the league's legal tampering period, though, prompting New Orleans to reach a deal with former Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray on Monday. Or Baltimore could ask Kenneth Dixon to take on more of that responsibility. Ingram ranked 28th in fantasy points per game a year ago, after ranking seventh, 10th, second, and 12th across his four previous seasons. The only two teams whose running backs totaled more than 387 carries were the Seahawks and the Patriots. Suggs returned to Arizona, where he played in high school and college, after receiving a one-year, $7 million deal from the Cardinals.
