Tiger Woods Props: Yes to win Major +300

Tiger Woods celebrates his Tour Championship win

Woods is an eight-time champion of this event at Bay Hill, but he won't get a crack at a ninth victory this time around.

"Unfortunately due to a neck strain that I've had for a few weeks, I'm forced to withdraw from the API", he tweeted.

"I saw him in Mexico getting treatment before and after he played; he did have some tape on his upper back". Tiger reiterated that he hoped he would be ready for the Players.

"I'd like to send my regrets to the Palmer family and the Orlando fans", wrote Woods.

Woods has played three times this year, with his best finish a tie for 10th in Mexico City.

Woods' first appearance at Bay Hill since 2013 generated record crowds and a massive spike in TV ratings.

Mitchell finished nine under - one shot ahead of Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler - at PGA National in Florida.

Woods has not withdrawn from an event for two years and has been in the top 20 in all of his three events this year. The WGC Dell Match Play and the Masters are also less than six weeks away. Cold temperatures and weather delays at the Genesis Open in California made for a long week, with Woods and many others forced to play almost 54 holes on the weekend.

The PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year honour has been renamed after the late Arnold Palmer, one of golf's greatest players whose huge popularity drew a legion of fans to the game.

Woods didn't specify what caused his neck pain, but he skipped the Honda Classic last week and during the British Open previous year, he wore KT Tape on his neck after he woke up with stiffness.

The Players Championship begins on March 14, and the golf world is back in the familiar position of waiting and wondering whether Woods will make it.
