R Kelly arrested for unpaid child support amid sexual abuse claims

R Kelly denied allegations he had sexually abused victims in a new interview by CBS

Kelly has also been scrutinised by former BuzzFeed News editor Marisa Carroll, who disputed his allegation the CBS interview was the first time he'd been permitted to discuss the allegations against him with the media. Just one day prior, she said Kelly "is a sick man", who she "feels really sorry for" because he is "beyond" the point of seeking help.

The woman told investigators that she was visiting her mother in MI at the time and was introduced to the singer by a friend who also happened to be Kelly's assistant.

King later revealed that Kelly's team had agreed that wouldn't be in the room for the interview with Clary and Savage, but that Kelly entered after the interview began and coughed very loudly "so they were aware that he was there". He rambled about proposing to his ex-wife Andrea on a helicopter with a puppy and denied ever abusing her.

She no longer lives in MI, but detectives plan to fly her in for an interview, and Detroit Police Chief James Craig said, "We are eagerly waiting to speak to the alleged victim".

The 52-year-old singer has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.

Kelly, who is also facing felony charges that allege he sexually abused three girls and a woman in Chicago years ago, shouted and cried as he spoke with Gayle King of CBS This Morning. A Cook County Sheriff's Office official says the singer won't be released until he pays $161,000 USA in back child support he owes.

Kelly called his accusers liars and alleged that people are after him for his money. Three of the four victims in the case were underage at the time of their assaults.

Clary and Savage were adamant that they "love" Kelly, despite what their parents have said about them being manipulated by the singer. "I have been assassinated". "After the interview started, he was around the corner behind them", said King. This is not me!' "My intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn't processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life".

R&B star R. Kelly blames his ex-wife for "destroying" his name and says others have stolen from his bank account.

He's referring to when he was indicted in 2002 on 13 counts of child pornography before being acquitted in 2008. Kelly had defiantly scheduled shows in Germany and the Netherlands despite the cloud of legal issues looming over him.

In a separate interview, two women who live with Kelly - Azriel Clary and Jocelyn Savage - rejected allegations that they are being controlled by the musician. Both sets of parents denied ever asking Kelly for money.

Kelly who blamed people going back to the past to ruin his career said these allegations are affecting his relationship with his children.
