N York attorney general is investigating Trump projects: NY Times

The inquiry by the office of Attorney General Letitia James is a civil investigation, not a criminal one, although its focus and scope were unclear, the paper said, citing a person briefed on the subpoenas.

Trump tweeted an apparent response Tuesday night, decrying his home state and its governor as "PRESIDENTIAL HARASSERS".

"New York State and its Governor, Andrew Cuomo, are now proud members of the group of PRESIDENTIAL HARASSERS".

The New York Times is reporting the New York Attorney General's Office issued subpoenas to Deutsche Bank as part of an investigation into the Trump Organization's real estate dealings.

The Deutsche Bank subpoena seeks loan applications, mortgages, lines of credit and other records of financial transactions in connection to a number of Trump hotels in the United States, the New York Times reported Monday.

President Donald Trump has tweeted an apparent response to a NY investigation into his business empire, saying the state and Gov. Andrew Cuomo are now "proud members of the group of PRESIDENTIAL HARASSERS".

The subpoenas also relate to Trump's unsuccessful attempt to buy the Buffalo Bills NFL team in 2014.

The Trump Organization and Trump have not commented on the latest investigation.

The Times' source said the subpoenas were inspired by Cohen's testimony about how Trump reported his finances.

Deutsche Bank was listed on Mr. Trump's financial disclosure forms as his biggest creditor.

Mr Trump has complained that she is waging a politically motivated vendetta against him. James' predecessors sued Trump over the operations of Trump University, his real estate school.

CNN has reached out to the NY attorney general's office and Investors Bank.

House Democrats are also probing Trump's ties with Deutsche Bank, one of the few institutions to lend to Trump after a series of bankruptcies in the 1990s.

Previously, a different NY state agency, which regulates insurance companies, launched an inquiry into Cohen's allegations that Trump also misled insurance companies about his financial worth.

Deutsche Bank, which couldn't be reached late Monday night for comment, previously has cooperated with other Trump-related inquiries, including previous year when called on by NY bank regulators.
