India slams Pakistan action against militants, South Asia News & Top Stories

One such attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir on February 14, claimed by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Pakistan-based group, killed 40 Indian paramilitary police and led to clashes between the nuclear-armed rivals as India retaliated.

"The fact that Pakistan has now refused access to journalists from visiting the site means that they have plenty to hide", Indian foreign ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar told reporters.

Tensions between the two nuclear powers have been high since Indian warplanes conducted the cross-border raid on February 26, to destroy what New Delhi described as "terrorist camps" run by JeM.

"Tensions between India and Pakistan appear to be de-escalating and this is a positive development", Qureshi said.

"But till today, however, Pakistan has failed to take any credible action against JeM and other terrorist organisations, which continue to operate with impunity from Pakistan".

Kumar said a recent United Nations statement also called for "perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of terrorism to be held accountable and brought to justice".

PM Modi said India now follows a new policy of dealing with terrorists, citing the retaliatory strikes against Pakistan during his term.

Health package for Thar people: Prime Minister Imran Khan announced yesterday a Health Package for Tharparkar, under which Insaf Health Cards would be provided to 112,000 families of the area, Internews reports from Islamabad.

Pakistan had called its envoy back to Islamabad for urgent consultations in the wake of the February 14 Pulwama terror attack by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) which left 40 CRPF personnel dead.

"India hasn't shared yet any actionable information and proof against anybody", Chaudhry said. Pakistan said the strike only damaged three trees in a forest.

He also said Khan has invited India to take part in a joint investigation and negotiations, but that there had been no response from the Indian side.

The next day Pakistani aircraft shot down at least one Indian aircraft and captured its pilot after it violated the airspace.
