Anthem PS4 refunds are being given out by Sony over crashing issues

Anthem PS4 crashes

Sony is now offering wide spread refunds to most of it's users when it was discovered that Anthem causes a total system crash on the PS4 console. In a thread on the Anthem subreddit, a user explains that when the game crashes, they are not only booted to the main menu, but on more than one occasion, the PS4 has shut down entirely.

Some users are concerned that playing the game will lead to them "bricking" their consoles. The combat is stellar, I love the characters and while the story is definitely macho bromance with just the four guys in the party, it's a touching one of true friendship between these four dudes.

EA have asked Anthem players to send them information regarding the game's crashes, in the hopes that they will be able to address the issues in the near future.

Anthem is out now for PS4, Xbox and PC. This player notes that their console is "completely bricked to the point of not turning on because of Anthem", with multiple users in the comments claiming that the game would cause their PS4 to hard-shutdown with various error messages.

Have you reported your crash when prompted? Though there are quite a few exceptions to the transaction (players who pre-ordered the title seem to be ineligible for cash back), the refund accounts for the total cost of Anthem.

"Only disconnect the plug of the AC power cord from the electrical outlet when the power indicator is turned off". Refunds have since been verified by other players and publications. For more serious issues such as the console crashes, it is suggested players contact EA Help. As always, dealing with customer service is a crapshoot - whether or not you'll get an Anthem refund will depend on the particular agent.

The DLC plans for Final Fantasy XV may have been a bit too ambitious as they canceled several planned ones and are just doing one final one titled "Episode Ardyn", coming out later this year.
