Taylor Swift Debuts Netflix Trailer for 'Reputation Stadium Tour' Concert Film

Taken At Her Concert To Track Down Stalkers

As part of a larger story on up and coming technology as it relates to music and television, Rolling Stone reports that the singer used facial recognition software to scan the faces of attendees of a concert at the Rose Bowl in May.

As reported by Rolling Stone, the venue featured a kiosk which played a highlight reel of Swift's rehearsals but also had a bunch of cameras attached to it.

But it's understandable why Swift and her team have gone to such great lengths to keep her most problematic fans in check.

The captured images were cross-referenced with a list of hundreds of Swift's known stalkers, according to Mike Downing, chief security officer of venue advisory group Oak View Group.

Legally, concerts are considered private events, meaning that artists or concert organizers can employ a considerable number of security measures to ensure safety, including surveillance.

Swift released a short teaser for the concert film showing clips of her on the tour, which included two nights in Dublin's Croke Park.

Roger Alvarado, 22, pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and criminal contempt earlier this month.

Neither Downing nor Swift's representatives disclosed who manufactured the kiosks nor were available for comment.

In April, 38-year-old Julius Sandrock was arrested outside her Beverly Hills home. Bosses at Ticketmaster are also considering using facial recognition technology at concerts, but say they will be "careful" about its implementation due to privacy concerns. He told police he travelled from Colorado to see the performer and Taylor swiftly got a restraining order in May.

While facial recognition is increasingly being used by authorities to keep track of wrongdoers, entertainers have employed the tech as well - to keep track of stalkers.
