Hundreds of People From Migrant Caravan Breach US-Mexican Border

The Chinese tourists also posed for pictures next to the Tijuana border wall with San Diego in California as workers kept a door open while it was being repaired.

"We've got a challenging and still potentially volatile situation in Tijuana", said Kevin K. McAleenan, the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, on Fox News Tuesday morning.

They are two of many Central American migrants that have breached the border in Tijuana recently.

This family's story is an example of what many migrants hoped for when they set out on the weeks-long journey to the United States - to get across the border into the USA, request asylum, and be allowed to wait for their hearing in the United States.

A previous attempt by a larger group of migrants to jump over the border wall was met with tear gas, sending women and children running back to the Mexican side.

According to Reuters, numerous "frustrated and exhausted" immigrants quickly surrendered to the U.S. Border Patrol, hoping that once in the U.S.

Tents are set up in a new shelter on Sunday in an area known as El Barretal in Tijuana, Mexico. And members of the Tijuana medical association are offering discounts and benefits for local and USA patients to try to make up for lost business.

Thousands of migrants, mostly Hondurans, have joined caravans in recent weeks in an effort to speed across Mexico to request refuge in the United States. "It's a huge challenge that we need to work with Congress to address.We've got criminal organizations profiting off of vulnerable families, charging $5000-$7000 per person". They turned around and waved to those still on the Mexican side.

There are some 5,600 migrants at the Albergue Benito Juarez shelter in Tijuana, according to the local municipal police.

He pointed out that now, some 2,500 migrants remain in a migration camp near the Mexican-US border, not far from the city of Tijuana.

Melanie Hernandez, a migrant at the new shelter, said the desperate situation created by the rain has "improved the humanitarian response" offered by Mexican and US non-governmental organizations, many of whom are offering clothes, medical care and some legal services.

And now that the invasion has begun - even if in dribs and drabs - the question is whether President Trump will exercise his constitutional authority to stop it, as he promised, or permit leftist legal subversives and their allied federal judges to usurp his powers.

They told the migrants food and medical services would no longer be provided there.

One reason he must act is that more than 30 percent of migrants are ill.
