As the Californian wildfire death toll continues to rise, celebrities have taken to social media to share their own stories of loss in the devastating blaze.

Hundreds of miles to the south, at least two people died in the Woolsey conflagration threatening the wealthy beach community of Malibu, near Los Angeles. So far, three of the more than 4,000 firefighters deployed have been injured.

Saturday saw a brief reprieve in the fierce winds fueling the fires, and firefighters hoped to use the break to their advantage.

He added, "Moreover, almost 60 percent of California forests are under federal management, and another two-thirds under private control". Three bodies were found outside homes and one was found inside a home.

Officials shot back that increasingly destructive fires are a result of global warming, which dries out vegetation and turns large swathes of grassland into a tinderbox. The majority of those residents are in Los Angeles County, where 170,000 were evacuated.

"More than 2,000 personnel have been sent to fight the Camp Fire, which is predicted to be fully contained by November 30", Patel wrote in the NASA update.

Cyrus' two-acre property, which she shared with on/off fiancé Liam Hemsworth, reportedly used to feature a patio, fountains, gazebo, spa, and a two-car garage.

Officials previously warned gusts would peak at around 40 miles per hour, which could affect the viability of using aircraft to combat the fires.

The Hill and Woolsey fires in Ventura and Los Angeles County have destroyed thousands of structures in southern California, one of the most highly populated areas of the United States.

They also told people in mandatory evacuation zones that if they hadn't left yet, they needed to.

In Northern California, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said the county consulted anthropologists from California State University at Chico because, in some cases, investigators have been able to recover only bones and bone fragments.

As relatives desperately searched shelters for missing loved ones, crews stepped up the search for bodies in the smoking ruins of Paradise on Sunday, loading the remains of at least one victim into a hearse.

The deaths came as authorities in Northern California announced the death toll from a massive wildfire there has reached 23 people, bringing the statewide total to 25. Authorities expect that strong northeastern winds will start up again in the evening, potentially spreading across one of California's biggest lakes into the city of Oroville.

"This is not the new normal, this is the new abnormal".

Some people, attempting to flee the fire, were stuck in traffic and left their cars behind to run with their families.

"Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating", Gerard Butler wrote in an Instagram post next to a photo that showed a burnt structure and a badly scorched vehicle.

"It was a 100-foot wall of flames".

With Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker both reportedly loosing homes and gear, both Robin Thicke and Gerard Butler have reveled that they have lost homes in the fire.
