According to TMZ, Tekashi69 was taken into custody by agents of the Justice Department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in New York City on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018. Reports Consequence of Sound, five individuals - Tekashi 6ix9ine (née Daniel Hernandez), his ex-manager Shotti (Kifano Jordan), Ish (Jensel Butler), Crippy (Faheem Walter), and Fu Banga (Fuguan Lovick) - were formally charged with 17 crimes as alleged members of the Bloods street gang known as Nine Trey Bloods.

All the charges were serious and carry big prison sentences, with racketeering conspiracy (20 years), using/carrying a firearm during a crime of violence (Life in prison) and violent crime in aid of racketeering (20 years) suggesting that Tekashi 6ix9ine could face multipple years behind bars if convincted.

Now Tekashi is facing a minimum of 32 years in prison if he gets convicted. The rapper and his associates were allegedly dealing heroin, fentanyl, MDMA and marijuana throughout New York City. The prosecution also says that Nine Trey carried out violent attacks on members of rival gangs - which sometimes led to innocent bystanders being shot or killed.

He was sentenced to four years of probation, and also complete 1000 hours of community service as well as avoid any involvement with gangs or any further arrests - which doesn't bode well for his current situation. Judge Henry Pitman cited the discovery of evidence from a gunpoint robbery and an automatic pistol found in his home as reason to deny bail. Hernandez is involved in several of the listed indictments. The arrests are said to have been a "joint effort by ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security".

6ix9ine was denied bail Monday. His album Day69: Graduation Day was among the top records on iTunes following its February release.

6ix9ine is not new to controversy in the hip-hop world. A law enforcement source tells E! They also claim 6ix9ine was present in an incident at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, where one of 6ix9ine's rivals fired shots at another vehicle.
