LeBron cites turnovers as culprit in Lakers' latest loss to Magic

Ingram, LeBron lead Lakers in sloppy win over Jazz

"I think they had trouble with that tonight and it really worked well for us". Utah (8-11) has struggled of late, losing nine of its previous 13 games.

The Lakers (10-7) are fourth in the National Basketball Association in points per game (116.2) and appear to be growing more comfortable on both ends of the floor.

Now, the Denver Nuggets will battle the Los Angeles Lakers on their home court in a re-match which could have more implications than one would expect.

Los Angeles gave up 100 points through the first three quarters against Orlando last weekend, and never found an answer for Orlando 7-footer Nikola Vucevic, who scored a season-high 36 points.

Rudy Gobert had 18 points and 15 rebounds, Ricky Rubio scored 27 points and Utah beat Sacramento.

Of course, if the Lakers learn their lessons and manage games better than they did Sunday, those late-game minutes won't be of any effect because the victory will already be wrapped up.

Neither team did much to distinguish itself early on the first game back from Thanksgiving.

LeBron James scored 24 points, but committed a game-high six turnovers, as the Lakers fell to the Magic.

Without Mitchell, the Jazz lost their third straight game to the Lakers at Staples Center.

The Lakers surged to a 12-point lead early in the game behind 13 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds from Kyle Kuzma in the first quarter alone. 'And then once the tip-ball gets going, it'll be time to go to work. Meanwhile, the Lakers got enough offensive firepower from James and Ingram combining for 29 of the 52 points in the second half.

Even though it was just one game, this was an encouraging sign for Ingram moving forward this season. The Philadelphia star tallied 34 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.

And LeBron, for his part, is doing more work away from the ball than he did even during his Miami hay-days with Dwyane Wade.

But as Lakers coach Luke Walton aptly pointed out, focusing on the misses by James and Caldwell-Pope kind of misses the point.

Their shaky interior defense, the major issue during their sluggish start, has been shored up by the acquisition of veteran center Tyson Chandler to provide back up to starter Javale McGee. The Jazz shot 38.8 percent from the field, and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line. Whenever James goes to a new team, it typically takes him a little while to adjust to him running the show.
