Will Smith Shares Aladdin Poster with Genie's Lamp

The first teaser for Disney's live-action Aladdin has arrived, and while it might not give away a whole lot, it does put a major set piece on display. There's some brief voiceover, and a quick shot of Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan, The 99, Watch Dogs 2).

The film releases in cinemas on 24 May 2019. And of course, the sounds: the tunes of "Arabian Nights" and "Friend Like Me", both of which we look forward to hearing in full in this new version of the tale.

Tonight, Walt Disney Pictures released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin.

Check out the first official trailer for Aladdin below! Smith shared the poster, which you can check out in the gallery below, on his Facebook, saying: "LEMME OUT!" Naomi Scott will play Jasmine, with Will Smith as the Genie (a role made famous by Robin Williams in the original film). "Can't wait for ya'll to see me blue!" But, as the poster warns, Aladdin can't get carried away in attempting to win over Jasmine; he must "choose wisely" when making his three wishes with Genie. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney's "Aladdin".
