Red Sox have already won the World Series according to Google

Boston pitcher Curt Schilling during the game between the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox at Turner Field in Atlanta

In Wednesday's Game 2, he provided the game-winning, two-run single in the fifth inning to give Boston a 4-2 lead.

Schilling was a key cog in Boston's run to its first World Series title since 1918, famously defeating the Yankees in the "bloody sock game" that was Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS.

This will be Hill's fourth appearance and third start in this year's postseason.

Prior to Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday, members of the 2004 curse-busting Boston Red Sox championship team will take the field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Curt Schilling won't be there. He beat NY in Yankee Stadium in the pivotal third game of the Division Series, then won the third game of the ALCS in his hometown of Houston and got three outs in the series clincher, to the admiration of his idol Nolan Ryan and to the joy of teammates present and past. "I don't think tomorrow is do-or-die quite the way Game 7 is obviously, but being down 2-0 in the Series going into it, there's definitely some pressure there".

Boston's 8-4 win in this year's opener averaged 13,755,000, down 8 percent from the 14,698,000 for the Dodgers' 3-1 win over Houston in Game 1 last year and the fewest since 12,191,000 for the Giants' 7-1 win over Kansas City that opened the 2014 Series. J.D. Martinez has an ankle injury, and manager Alex Cora doesn't know if he'll be able to suit up for Game 3.

Martinez has said he planned on playing in Game 3.

Cora said Martinez got treatment for his sore ankle during Thursday's travel day.

Red Sox star Mookie Betts has received plenty of praise for his play on the field this season.

Cora flatly said Betts would not start at second base.
