President Trump mocks Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony

"At the same time, just so we all understand, this is our seventh investigation of a man who has really.you look at his life until this happened, what change he's gone through, what his family's gone through", he said.

It's gotten so bad that earlier Wednesday Mr. McConnell took to the Senate floor to call the protesters bullies and vow not to let them sway the vote. It will be held in a secure room in the basement of the Capitol building, known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or "Skif", AP news agency reported. Senators were to be granted access to review it during the day before a procedural vote that was set up by US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

A massive coalition of U.S. Christian churches attended by 40 million people wants Brett Kavanaugh to withdraw his Supreme Court nomination. She said he was simply "stating the facts" and complained that both Ford and Kavanaugh were "victims" of a Democratic plot to derail the nomination.

As Senate Republican leaders marched toward a final vote on Mr Kavanaugh's nomination, the three Republicans who could be key to whether Mr Kavanaugh is confirmed - Senators Jeff Flake, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski - criticised Mr Trump for mocking Ford at a political rally in MS on Tuesday. "Though we appreciated the agents who responded on Sunday, we have great concern that the FBI is not conducting-or not being permitted to conduct-a serious investigation", Clune said Tuesday.

"Well, do you think it was - nope, it was one beer", President Trump said, mimicking Ford's testimony last week to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"The woman has been accommodated by all of us, including Senate Judiciary Committee", Conway told reporters.

If that vote is successful, it would trigger up to 30 hours of additional debate and then a final confirmation vote, which could put Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court before the next cases are heard Monday.

Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell meanwhile set in motion a process created to lead to a procedural vote on Kavanaugh's nomination on Friday, that would possibly lead to a final vote as early as the following day. This background check, requested by a trio of senators who are undecided on Kavanaugh's confirmation, will be different. "It's worse for Judiciary Committee members, but I know Senator Collins is having a lot of trouble - she can hardly leave her home".

They say Dr Ford has been attacked for coming forward and insist her account of events should be believed.

"I just say it's kind of appalling."

Washington has been awaiting completion of the investigation since last week, when Flake, Collins and Murkowski pressured a reluctant Trump and GOP leaders to order the FBI to renew its background check of the 53-year-old Kavanaugh.

"Wow, such enthusiasm and energy for Judge Brett Kavanaugh", Trump said in a tweet. "So President Trump went through a factual rendition that I didn't particularly like and I would tell him to "Knock it off, you're not helping" but it can be worse - you can kill someone's cat and puncture their tires to get them to shut up".

The FBI has finished an interview with Chris Garrett, a high school friend of Kavanaugh.

Christine Blasey Ford's lawyers say they'll turn over notes from her therapy sessions and any recordings of her taking a lie detector test to the FBI, if the bureau agrees to interview her.
