Haris Sohail scored his maiden Test century on Monday as Pakistan piled up 482 runs in its first innings on the second day against Australia.

Pakistan are now 110-5 with a lead of 390.

Test debutant Aaron Finch (62) and Usman Khawaja (85) both appeared on track for centuries after putting on Australia's second-highest opening partnership in Asia.

No Test side has ever successfully chased a fourth-innings target greater than 418 anywhere in the world.

Jon Holland (2-9) had already accounted for first-innings centurion Mohammad Hafeez and he had Azhar trapped lbw with the final ball of the day after a review overturned the on-field umpire's decision.

Abbas then grabbed the wickets of Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc and Peter Siddle after tea while Asif wrapped up the innings by claiming No. 10 batsman Nathan Lyon.

Debutant Pakistan off-spinner Bilal Asif ripped through the Australian middle-order with six wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 202 on the third day of the first test in Dubai on Tuesday.

Pakistan will resume on day four with Imam-ul-Haq 23 not out and Asad Shafiq yet to score.

The second session belonged to Asif, who dismissed Khawaja, Shaun Marsh (seven), Travis Head (nought) and Marnus Labuschagne (nought) in the space of 29 runs.

Earlier Pakistan had won the toss and made a decision to bat first in the first of the two-match Test series in Dubai.

Khawaja hit eight fours before miscuing a premeditated sweep and was caught at short leg while Finch had five boundaries and a six in his knock.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah was unlucky not to be amongst wickets, having dropped Mitchell Marsh off his own bowling for two and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed missing a stump in the first session with Khawaja on 17.
