Dana White does not rule out McGregor-Nurmagomedov rematch despite ugly scenes

Khabib Nurmagomedov is held back outside of the cage after his win over Conor McGregor

Nurmagomedov forced Conor McGregor to tap in the fourth round inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A brawl between the two camps immediately ensued, as Nurmagomedov leapt over the Octagon to attack a member of McGregor's corner.

The NSAC has launched a full investigation into the fight following Nurmagomedov's win over McGregor at T-Mobile Arena, and is now reviewing footage from the fight and interviewing those who were involved.

The UFC boss Dana White refused to give Nurmagomedov his lightweight championship belt in the octagon over fears what the angry crowd would do, leaving the Russian fighter requiring a Las Vegas metropolitan police escort out of the building.

The original footage reviewed by the NSAC seemingly made McGregor look like the victim but upon subsequent examination of different camera angles of the incident, it's been chose to file complaints against both men involved in the main event. "We'll see how things play out".

Nurmagomedov issued an apology to the NSAC on Saturday. "I warned him", Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov told RenTV.

It initially looked like McGregor would escape punishment following the melee which marred the main event of UFC 229 after the NSAC made a decision to give "The Notorious" his cheque but withhold payment from Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov faces potential fines, community service and even suspension for his actions on fight night. For instance, Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov have been lined up three different times to fight and it still hasn't happened.

They were very ugly scenes and it led to three people from the victor's team being arrested before the Notorious decided against pressing charges, partially because of his involvement in the incident. "I love watching him fight". "I know my father's gonna smash me when I go home", he said at the post-fight press conference.

McGregor's $3-million ($4.2-million) was not withheld after commission officials examined video footage and determined his side had done nothing wrong in the melee. "I didn't see Khabib jumping over the cage like that".

"You do whatever you want in the Octagon", Nurmagomedov Sr.

Khabib puts on the rear choke hold that won him the fight. "I'm sure Herb Dean was looking at it closely and considering saying to Conor, "You've got to do something".
