Trump dismisses 'messed up' Kavanaugh accuser

What Thursday's hearing with Kavanaugh and Ford will look like

Swetnick says she attended "well over ten" parties where Kavanaugh was present and saw him "drink excessively at many of these parties and engage in abusive and physically aggressive behavior towards girls, including pressing girls against him without their consent, "grinding" against girls and attempting to remove or shift girls' clothing to expose private body parts". He said of the allegations by her and others, "If I thought he was guilty of something like this. yeah, sure".

On Sunday, The New Yorker published Ramirez's story, which took place at Yale during 1983-84.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell predicted that Mr Kavanaugh would win approval, despite the new allegations and uncertainty about how pivotal Republicans would vote in a roll call now expected early next week.

"When I look at what's happened to the reputation of a great gentleman - a great intellect, a brilliant man, somebody that has a chance to be one of our great Supreme Court justices in history - intellectually, I think it's a shame", Trump said.

Calling the empowerment of women alleging abuse "very dangerous" for the country, President Donald Trump weighed in Wednesday on the mounting accusations against his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

After Trump's remarks in NY on Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee released transcripts that revealed the panel also questioned Kavanaugh about two other accusations that were previously unknown.

Republican leaders indicated they were still determined to have the committee vote on recommending Kavanaugh on Friday - after a dramatic Thursday hearing at which both Kavanaugh and Ford, are to testify. When asked if Kavanaugh's confirmation process in the Senate should be delayed or halted to investigate the new allegations, Graham responded, "absolutely not". If he will not, at the very least, the hearing and vote should be postponed while the FBI investigates all of these allegations. She has said he forced her into a room at a high school party, held her on a bed and tried removing her clothes as he muffled her mouth with his hands.

"Republicans need to immediately suspend the proceedings related to Judge Kavanaugh's nomination, and the president must order the FBI to reopen the background check investigation", the New York Democrat said in a statement. And I suspect that the longer that this hangs out there, the more, the more accusations will occur.

Swetnick, the third accuser, made other accusations in her statement. So far the White House and Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have declined to ask for the FBI to investigate the decades-old allegations against Kavanaugh.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a Trump ally, warned Republicans not to "bail out" on Kavanaugh.

On the other side, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of NY said Kavanaugh should withdraw his nomination. According to all four, she either named Kavanaugh as the assailant or described the attacker as a "federal judge". "These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh", she writes.

"I can't tell you whether or not they're liars until I hear them", Trump said. "Do you mind telling me so I can read about him?"

Christine Blasey Ford in her year book.

Given that the Judiciary Committee's GOP members are all male, Mr McConnell said the panel was hiring a "female assistant" to handle the questioning for Republicans "in a respectful and professional way". Mitchell comes from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Phoenix, where she is the chief of the Special Victims Division, which covers sex crimes and family violence.
