Six More Woman Accuse CBS CEO Les Moonves of Sexual Assault

Report: Les Moonves Stepping Down As Chief Executive Officer At CBS

CNN also reported that the CBS board could attempt to "claw back" some compensation to Moonves based on the investigation's findings.

CBS said it and Moonves will donate $20 million of Moonves' severance to organizations supporting the #MeToo movement.

Moonves, 68, who turned CBS from an aging radio and TV broadcaster into a provider of shows to digital platforms, was expected to reap an estimated $100 million in severance.

Moonves' lieutenant, Chief Operating Officer Joe Ianniello, was named president and Acting CEO while the board searches for a permanent replacement.

In the meantime the network says Moonves' chairman position will remain open.

The response was so strong that Farrow has published a follow-up to his exposé, featuring testimony from six additional women who said that Moonves forced them to perform oral sex, solicited sexual favors from them, and then used harassment and coercion to intimidate them into silence. And The New Yorker reported that he'd said some of the incidents from his 12 accusers were consensual.

One of the women, Phyllis Golden-Gottlieb, reported her accusations to Los Angeles police previous year, but they weren't pursued because of the statute of limitations. "It is systematic, and it is pervasive in our culture", O'Donnell said in a near-verbatim reiteration of her November comments.

"I really felt like this was one of the most sexist places I've ever worked", Sarah Johansen, who previously worked as an intern at CBS for Fager, told Farrow.

Another six women had accused Mr Moonves. And I have never used my position to hinder the advancement or careers of women.

In the newest report from Farrow, where six women go on the record to describe what most state's laws define as "Oral Copulation by Force or Fear; when a victim is forced to perform oral sex on a perpetrator, receive oral sex from a perpetrator, or both", Moonves says the assaults never happened.

The network made the announcement in a statement Sunday evening. The New Yorker report raised the question of whether Moonves was forthcoming with the CBS board of directors about the existence of the criminal investigation past year. He also exposed himself without consent, according to the report.

Moonves and Redstone were locked in a tug of war even before July 27, when Ronan Farrow of The New Yorker first reported on alleged harassment by Moonves. O'Donnell added: "This I know is true: Women can not achieve equality in the workplace or society until there is reckoning".

Despite what police sources told The New Yorker was credible evidence, the statute of limitations for the alleged crimes had expired and prosecutors did not pursue the charges.

The New Yorker said Moonves had, in a statement, acknowledged three of the encounters but said they were consensual and occurred "before I came to CBS". Negotiations between Moonves and CBS have been reportedly going on "for some time", and he's now being offered an exit package largely made up of company stock said to be worth between $100 million and $125 million. The CBS board is being reshaped, with six new directors, and Redstone is repeating her vow to consider new bids from potential buyers.

"The CBS board of directors is committed to a thorough and independent investigation of the allegations, and that investigation is actively underway", the media company's board said in a statement. While he's continued to work at the network amid the scandal, Moovnes is now negotiating his exit, which may result in a $100 million severance package.

His resignation is part of a settlement that also ends a lawsuit filed in May by CBS's independent board members seeking to strip the Redstone family - who are majority voting shareholders of CBS Corporation and Viacom - of its voting control.
