First Nike Kaepernick ad to air during National Football League opener

What did Jerry Jones say about Nike’s new ad campaign with Colin Kaepernick? | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

So it was no surprise that he was asked about Nike, a major National Football League sponsor, making former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of a new ad campaign. Kaepernick, an unsigned free agent, began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016 to bring attention to police brutality against African-Americans as well as other racial injustices. I'm not gonna speak for them, but there was no one happy about it. The clip also features athletes like LeBron James and Serena Williams, who strive to give the very best to their sports.

The Nike ad features a number of the world's biggest athletes and talks about dreams, goals and striving for the impossible before the kicker where Kaepernick is revealed and the catch phrase, 'Believe in something. "We also believe that those who know what sacrifice is all about are more likely to be wearing a military uniform than an athletic uniform".

President Trump, who has repeatedly slammed the players' protests, also weighed in, saying in an interview with The Daily Caller that the deal with Kaepernick sends "a bad message".

"If people say your dreams are insane, if they laugh at what people think you can do, good", Kaepernick says in the ad as a skateboarder aces a stunt. "I'm a Nike guy".

He concludes by saying: "Don't ask if your dreams are insane".

More news: Canada 'will be out' of trade deal unless it's 'fair'

And now, the first video ad featuring Colin Kaepernick just rolled out. "Ask if they are insane enough".

It wasn't the first time she openly supported Kaepernick, who has been out of the NFL since 2016 and is now waged in a collusion case that accuses the league and its teams of blackballing him. Covington posted on Twitter to support the Nike boycott that a lot of people have joined.

The spot ends with Kaepernick saying, "Don't ask if your dreams are insane, ask if they are insane enough".

He has been out of a job for more than a year, but this latest ad marks a new multi-year deal with the sports apparel giant.
