Samsung profit growth slows

Samsung's mobile woes drag on profit growth

Samsung's display business continues to suffer from weak demand for the company's flexible OLED screens, perhaps in part because of the aforementioned soft demand for its own Galaxy S9 smartphones.

Both NAND and DRAM sales remained high owing to robust growth in demand on the back of the trend toward higher density for smartphones, SSD for servers and expansion of data center infrastructure.

Demand for smartphones and tablets is forecast to increase in the second half as the market enters a period of strong seasonality, but competition is seen intensifying as new smartphone models are released.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, with the included S Pen, and featuring Samsung DeX, is displayed in New York, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018.

The overall tablet market has been in decline but tablets catering to professionals and the enterprise has been increasing, Samsung officials told ZDNet.

TechRadar will be reporting live from the NY launch event to bring you everything you need to know about the Galaxy Note 9, including confirmation of its release date, on August 9. Samsung is once again expected to beat Apple in the operating profit category but by a difference of a hairline. for Q3 2018 which means a ratio of 25 percent. The device has been outfitted with a 6.95-inch AMOLED screen, larger than the Note 9's 6.3-inch display and the iPhone X's 6.5-inch display. The company raked in $52.1 billion in revenue (58.48 trillion South Korean won) at today's exchange rates, and it made $13.3 billion in operating profit on that haul (14.87 trillion KRW).

According to a report from The Investors, Samsung plans to add high-end features like in-display fingerprint sensor and triple camera lens to its Galaxy A series of phones this year.

Samsung then said it is preparing the release of micro LED TVs customized for businesses and households, respectively. You can go to Samsung's site or its app on Google Play Store, and submit your name, email ID, and carrier model of choice to reserve the smartphone. You can also extend Samsung DeX to an external monitor with a compatible HDMI to USB-C multi-port adapter. Revenue was also down 20 percent year on year to 24 trillion won.

Samsung shares decreased 0.3 percent, compared with the flat broader market. The second-quarter report was announced before the stock market's opening Tuesday.
