Giuliani says he's not sure collusion is a crime despite Mueller investigation

Trump urges Mueller to admit conflict of interest in pending investigation

"Collusion is not a crime".

Asked about what specific conflict the president was referring to in a Monday interview with CNN, Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani described it as a "dispute" but left it to the president to further characterize his complaint.

"We're in the process of responding to their proposal", Giuliani said after an event in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, indicating that Mueller's team had responded Tuesday. Nevertheless, Trump's legal team is preparing to counter the results of the investigation.

Mueller's team is looking into whether Trump sought to undermine the Russian Federation investigation by firing FBI Director James Comey and attacking Justice Department officials such as Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller.

"He either mislead or lied to our committee when he came to be interviewed, according to the mounting evidence from Michael Cohen from others, and from Rudy Giuliani himself", Blumenthal said.

He said Trump's legal team presented its offer for limited questioning of the president to Mueller's team 10 days ago but has not heard back.

"I don't think Mueller wants to be seen as interfering with the election", he said.

Giuliani told The Daily Beast that this included reporters from The New York Times, such as the paper's star Trump reporter Maggie Haberman, who had reached out about the alleged pre-meeting meeting.

"Enough is enough, ' Giuliani vented".

The rift in talks between Trump's legal team and the Mueller team comes amid recent efforts by Trump to personally discredit Mueller. He nearly still does.

Durbin added that the country has to wait for Mueller's investigation to be completed to know for sure.

'Is Robert Mueller ever going to release his conflicts of interest with respect to President Trump, including the fact that we had a very nasty & contentious business relationship, I turned him down to head the FBI (one day before appointment as S.C.) & Comey is his close friend...' Trump wrote in a three-tweet rant on the investigation on Sunday. Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign adviser, has since pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is cooperating with the Mueller probe. "Including the fact that we had a very nasty & contentious business relationship, I turned him down to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (one day before appointment as S.C.) & Comey is his close friend". Last week, CNN aired the audio of one of the recordings, which features then-presidential candidate Trump discussing with Cohen how they would buy the rights to a Playboy model's story about an alleged affair Trump had with her years earlier.

Trump also argued Mueller could not be impartial in the probe because he worked for a law firm that had represented Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. "Now, we've got the Cohen (tapes)". 'Sounds suspicious, doesn't it?' he added.
