Liverpool FC finally make £62m bid to sign Alisson Becker

Alison Becker announces Liverpool transfer but there is a twist in the tale

Liverpool have launched a world-record bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

Sky in Italy are reporting Liverpool have made an offer for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Ze Maria Neis' own Instagram page is littered of pictures of himself with Alisson, while he is followed by the Brazilian's verified account.

The Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has been guarded about his plans for a new goalkeeper after Loris Karius' disappointing end to the season.

The Italian side have not accepted any bid for their goalkeeper at this time, but there seems to be an acceptance that they will allow him to leave and Liverpool are now the front runners in the race to sign him.

SkySport Italia claim the Reds have submitted an offer for the goalkeeper.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are bracing themselves for the prospect of losing Thibaut Courtois, who looks set to join Real Madrid as soon as the west Londoners have signed a replacement. Karius is looking unlikely to keep his place with Liverpool.

With fans' anger at Karius reaching breaking point, Klopp has made a decision to swoop for Alisson, but the BBC claims that their world-record fee for a goalkeeper of £62m might not be accepted. The 25-year-old initially made an encouraging return to the side but his two awful errors in the Champions League final undermined his first choice claims and he made another mistake in last week's pre-season friendly at Tranmere Rovers.

However, the striker is now back and is "determined to make a fresh start having featured in pre-season friendlies against Chester, Tranmere Rovers and Bury", reports the Daily Mail.
