James Corden and Paul McCartney Shared an Emotional Carpool Karaoke Adventure

James Corden and Paul Mc Cartney on 'Carpool Karaoke'

A day in the life of James Corden often involves cajoling celebrities into his auto as he cruises in Los Angeles, where they enjoy conversation and belt out songs together as part of the "Carpool Karaoke" segment on Corden's Late Late Show.

The video wraps up with a surprise for local pub patrons, who are treated to a mini McCartney concert ending with a rousing "Hey Jude" singalong.

As Corden brings The Late Late Show to United Kingdom shores, the presenter and actor enlisted the nation's ultimate music export Paul McCartney for a sing-along in the passenger seat. As McCartney walks around his old home, he tells the story of how his dad thought the song She Loves You should have the chorus of yes, yes, yes instead of the famous yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sir Paul then climbed into the passenger seat and the pair broke into a version of The Beatles' classic Drive My Car. I hope you like it.

"Your music is so full of positivity and joy and a message of love and togetherness", Corden said to McCartney.

Shocking the homeowner with an impromptu visit, McCartney shows Corden around the house. Let it be?' I said 'I never heard that, that's kinda good, ' you know? "Just let it be, '" McCartney explained, noting he wrote the song based on that dream. Crowds gathered wherever they went, shaking hands, asking for autographs and often overcome with emotion at seeing McCartney in person.

When the 18-time Grammy victor explained to Corden that The Beatles' "Let It Be" was inspired by a dream he had about his mother, the late-night host started tearing up.

Carpool Karaoke was clearly Corden's breakout, but I like how he's used the segment not as a senseless gag to boost YouTube views, but as a real opportunity to get to know the guests that ride around in the vehicle.
