30-year-old son finally moves out of his parents’ house

Michael Rotondo speaks to reporters before leaving his parents home in Camillus New York

Michael Rotondo, the 30-year-old NY man who famously was ordered by a judge to move out of his parents' house, is apparently complying with the court's ruling, but apparently it's not going well.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Michael Rotondo, 30, was ordered to move out of his parents' home by Friday, June 1, after his parents took him to court.

According to the Syracuse.com report, Rotondo moved all of his belongings from the home, including a Volkswagon Passat that had been sitting in his parents' driveway, untouched for months.

Michael Rotondo loaded up a pickup truck with several garbage bags and moved out.

Rotondo called the police and once they arrived, found the Legos. Instead of letting him in, his father offered to look for specific items and bring them out if he found them.

In a letter dated February 18, his parents offered him cash and advice on how to navigate being out of their home.

The story gained worldwide attention after Rotondo's parents took him to court.

He had until noon Friday to vacate the premises, where Mark and Christina Rotondo claimed their son paid no rent and did nothing to help with household chores. "I can't have my phone getting jammed up with nonsense like that", Rotondo said as police responded to his complaint.

His parents say their son had lived in their home rent-free for the last eight years.

Rotondo had never contributed to any household expenses or assisted in any household chores after moving back in eight years ago, according to papers filed with the NY court. Rotondo made national headlines when his parents sued him for living in their house for free. "I don't have to guess what's behind door number one".

Rotondo lost custody and unsupervised visitation with his son in 2017.

"I think it's really unfair that I'm not going to get enough time to really prepare a good move", he said.
