Trump lists Cohen payment relating to Stormy on federal form

President Donald Trump listens to a question during a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the Oval Office of the White House Wednesday

US President Donald Trump's financial disclosure lists reimbursement to his former attorney Michael Cohen, who paid hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels, shedding new light on a scandal involving an alleged sexual encounter between her and Trump.

Mr Trump's new disclosure statement did not describe the goal or the recipient of the 2016 payment made by Mr Cohen.

"This is a big deal and unprecedented".

The OGE told the Justice Department in a letter released Wednesday, CNBC reported, that Cohen's payment to a third-party should legally have been detailed in the president's 2016 financial disclosure filing.

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani said during a Fox News interview that the president had repaid Cohen. Cohen initially said the payment was made exclusively by him, and was covered by a home equity line to cover the cost.

Al-Rumaihi told Cohen that Qatar expected to invest in Trump plans to solicit investment in a US infrastructure program, the Post reported. In other words, OGE has determined that Cohen's payment should have been reported previous year.

Ehrat has said that "although the contract was legally in order, it was an error" and "as a co-signatory with [the company's] former CEO, [he] [takes] personal responsibility to bring the public debate on this matter to an end". In his letter, Apol referenced the lawsuit as the reason he was alerting the DOJ about the note.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims she had a tryst with Trump in 2006 while he was married.

The ethics office is a government watchdog that provides oversight of the executive branch program created to prevent and resolve conflicts of interest.

On the form, filed Tuesday and made public Wednesday, Trump reported that he "fully reimbursed Mr. Cohen in 2017".

In other words, Trump was $130,000 in debt to Cohen before the reimbursement. The category of the value would be $100,001 - $250,000 and the interest rate would be zero.

Cohen has publicly acknowledged paying Daniels, saying he obtained the cash through a line of credit on his home. Cohen's payment, and the nondisclosure agreement that went along with it, has created a cyclone of chaos and controversy for the president's attorney and the White House. Meanwhile, Trump's D.C. hotel - which, fortuitously, opened its doors in September 2016 - has become one of the mogul's best-performing properties, as the patronage of foreign diplomats helped the venue produce $40.4 million in revenue past year.

The Trumps also had a wave of cancellations at the Mar-a-Lago club amid a backlash over the president's comments about the violence in Charlottesville, Va., last summer. But the expense was being revealed, according to the disclosure, "in the interest of transparency".

When Mr Trump took office, he refused to fully divest from his global business, another break with presidential tradition.
