Roseanne Barr Blames Ambien For Racist Tweet In String Of New Apologies

ABC cancels 'Roseanne' following Roseanne Barr's racist Twitter rant

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show", Dungey's statement read.

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that "ABC does not tolerate comments like those" made by Roseanne Barr". It's unclear what "statements" Trump is referencing in the tweet, but it likely relates to ABC News' coverage of his presidency. She also apologized to everyone who had lost their jobs on the show due to her "stupid tweet".

Roseanne Barr Tweeted a comment about former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett that many are calling racist.

Barr had sparked outrage on Tuesday by suggesting that Jarrett, who was born in Iran and is African American, was the product of the "muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes" having "a baby".

Roseanne Barr lashed out at her TV kids after "Roseanne's cancellation".

In the approximately 24 hours since Barr apologized for her Jarrett tweet and said she was "now leaving Twitter", she has tweeted, replied, or retweeted more than 100 times.

"With that said, I have an idea that I think makes this work for everyone", the host concluded, before airing a mock advertisement for Dan, a sitcom featuring all the Roseanne characters, except Roseanne, and starring her husband Dan Connor, played by John Goodman.

"I'm anxious about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers who came to their defense", Jarrett said at the town hall.

She zig-zagged between apologizing for her foul Twitter behavior and retweeting memes that made her apology sound insincere.

Comedian Rosanne Barr doesn't have much to laugh about right now, especially considering ABC Network has just canceled the recent revival of her popular '90s sitcom.

Trump reveled in the success of "Roseanne" after Barr's character in the show came out as a supporter of his presidency.

Jamilah Lemieux said ABC didn't exactly have much of a choice here in how to respond, though it does beg the question: "Who exactly were you going after when you chose to give this person a platform now?"
