The new "Avengers" installment beat "Black Panther" to rank only behind "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" for the biggest second weekend in theaters. Internationally, the film earned an estimated $162.6 million this weekend, making for a current foreign total of $713.3 million.

Internationally, Infinity War amassed another $162.6 million, thanks in part to a record breaking $17.6 million opening in Russian Federation, bringing the film's worldwide total to $713.3 million - with China still to come later this month.

As it stands, Infinity War is crushing it at the box office and earning mostly positive reviews, which may have turned out differently had they tried to use some of the characters from the Marvel TV series.

Following its record-setting opening one week ago, Disney/Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War marched its way to another great round at multiplexes worldwide this weekend. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. In comparison to the recent Marvel flicks, War's drop was higher than Black Panther's 44%, Thor: Ragnarok's 53% and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Two's 55%.

The Marvel flick opened in Russian Federation this weekend, where it scored a record $17.6 million.

In second place - and trailing by US$98 million - was Overboard, a gender-swapped remake of the 1987 romantic comedy with the same title.

Although critics were not especially won over by "Overboard", audiences gave the film a more favorable A- CinemaScore.

Hanging tough in third place was Paramount's A Quiet Place with an estimated $7.6 million from 3,413 screens.

The third weekend of Amy Schumer's "I Feel Pretty" secured the fourth slot with $4.9 million from 3,232 theaters. The film was directed by John Krasinski, who stars with his wife, Emily Blunt.

Rounding out the top five is Dwayne Johnson's "Rampage".

Globally, "Avengers: Infinity War" has now grossed over $1.2 billion and become the first film ever to cross the $1 billion mark in 11 days of release, and it has yet to even open in China.
